Nearly every religion has specific and meaningful traditions and customs around death. From protocols for cleaning and dressing the body to features of the funeral service or memorial events, the structure that religion provides around dealing with a death both fulfills religious obligations and offers guidance to grieving survivors.
Panel presentation of burial rituals of Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians, followed by questions and discussion. Light refreshments will be served.
The Psychology of Death Series features discussions on various topics related to death led by experts in the field. The series is presented by The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia, Laurel Hill Cemetery and West Laurel Hill Cemetery & Funeral Home.
