March Jewish Lecture Series

Exploring Jewish perspectives on death, burial, bereavement, and the process of healing. This public lecture series will offer thoughtful and provocative Jewish wisdom and helpful guidelines in responding to the human encounter with death.

March Topic - Traditional Jewish Burial Practices: Practical and Spiritual Guidelines

Exploration of rituals, practices, and spiritual wisdom of Jewish burial which focus on caring for the body, for the mourners, and for the soul.

Moderated by Rabbi Linda Holtzman - Reconstructionist Rabbinical College & Patricia Quigley - West Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Inc.:
Rabbi Linda Holtzman Rabbinic Formation Specialist at the Tikkun Olam Chavurah. The former Rabbi of Congregation Mishkan Shalom, she is a founder of the Reconstructionist Chevra Kaddisha of Philadelphia.
Patricia Quigley is a licensed Funeral Director at West Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Inc. She is a long-time member of the Mishkan Shalom Congregation and of the Reconstructionist Chevra Kaddisha of Philadelphia.
